Ione Floan

Ione Herzog Floan, 86, Jamestown, North Dakota, died Sunday, February 17, 2008 at MedCenter One Hospital in Bismarck, ND.

Ione Johns was born January 12, 1922 in Bismarck, ND, the daughter of Frank and Edna Johns. She was raised in Driscoll, ND. After graduating from high school, Ione moved to Jamestown to work for Northwestern Bell-AT & T, where she worked for almost thirty years. On July 6, 1946, Ione married Richard Herzog, a Jamestown College student. They had two children, Doug Herzog was born in 1948 and Randy Herzog in 1950. Richard ""Dick"" passed away in the spring of 1958. Ione continued to work at the phone company and care for her sons. In 1977, Ione married Orville Floan of Jamestown.

Ione was a dedicated mother and grandmother, an integral family member, a fierce friend, a devoted daughter, an avid card player, and a long time member of the Jamestown community.

Ione is survived by her two sons, Doug and wife, Susan, Herzog, Bismarck, ND and Randy Herzog of Billings, MT; five grandchildren, Matt Herzog, Seattle, WA, Ryan Herzog, Billings, MT, Jill (Brian) Troftgruben, Edinburg, ND, Bret Herzog, Minneapolis, MN and Kate Herzog, Grand Forks, ND; one great-grandson and many cousins, nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; both of her husbands; and one brother, Marcus Johns.

Funeral Service: 1:30 PM, Thursday, February 21, 2008 at the First United Methodist Church, Jamestown, with Pastor Kenrad Pederson officiating.

Visitation: 1:00 to 8:00 PM, Wednesday, February 20, 2008 at the Eddy Funeral Home in Jamestown.

Burial: Sunset Memorial Gardens, Jamestown, North Dakota
