Irene Balsley

Irene Balsley, 95, Jamestown, ND passed away Wednesday, July 12, 2017 at Ave Maria Village Nursing Home, Jamestown, ND.

Irene Ihme was born August 16, 1921 in the Lisbon, ND area to John and Ella (Buss) Ihme. Irene grew up and attended school in the Lisbon area. On December 27, 1945, she married John P. Roth. They lived on a farm in Moore Township for 12 years before moving to Valley City, ND. She worked at the hospital and school in Valley City for many years.

They had five children. John passed away in 1966. On March 20, 1976, she married Verle E. Balsley. They moved to Jamestown where Irene has made her home since. Irene was employed at Jamestown Hospital. Verle passed away in June of 1992. She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church and VFW Auxiliary of Valley City.

Irene is survived by two sons, Paul (Kathy) Roth, N. Stratford, NH, Robert Roth (Evonne Johnson), Tower City, ND; Susan (Wayne) Glaser, Jamestown, ND; many grandchildren and great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by parents, husbands and two sons.

Visitation will be one hour before the service at church. Funeral service will be 11:00 AM, Monday, July 17, 2017 at Trinity Lutheran Church with Pastor Kristi Weber, officiating. Burial will be in Memory Gardens, Valley City, ND.
