Irene Erickson

Irene Erickson, 88, Jamestown, North Dakota died Tuesday, April 27, 2004 at Central Dakota Village, Jamestown.

Irene Brooks was born July 16, 1915 at Edgeley, North Dakota the daughter of Louis C. and Laura (Dorwin) Brooks. She grew up at Nortonville, ND graduating from high school there.

Irene married Louis J. Erickson on May 28, 1932 at LaMoure, ND. They lived in Nortonville until 1937 when they moved to Jamestown. In the spring of 1938 the Erickson family moved to Carrington and in 1941 moved back to make their home in Jamestown.

Irene worked as cashier at National Tea and Red Owl Food Stores starting in 1947. In 1956 she worked with her husband, Louis at Erickson Beverage Co. as the bookkeeper until her retirement in 1978.

She was a member of the B.P.O.E. Does, Eagles Auxiliary and the First United Methodist Church, Jamestown.

Irene is survived by one daughter, Joanne (Eugene) Rott, Jamestown; six grandchildren, Kelly (Cindy) Rott, Jamestown; Betty Jo (Mike) Hoeppner, Grand Forks, ND; Julie Kresel, Jamestown; Tom Hoffmann, Jamestown; Tracy (Shari) Hoffmann, Eagan, MN and Debra (Randy) Jones, Ft. Collins, CO; seven great-grandchildren, Cassandra & Andrew Rott; Samantha Jo Hoeppner, Kalin & Amanda Kresel; Kristi & Tony Hoffmann; one sister, Jean Maier, Mesa, AZ and a son-in-law, Frank Hoffmann, Jamestown.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband and two daughters, Betty and Bonnie (Mrs. Frank Hoffmann) and a sister, Cora Erickson.

Funeral Service: 2:00 PM, Friday, April 30, 2004 at the First United Methodist Church, Jamestown with Rev. Dick Boyd officiating.

Visitation: 1:00 to 9:00 PM, Thusday, April 29, 2004 at the Eddy Funeral Home.

Prayer Service: 7:30 PM, Thursday, April 29, 2004 at the Eddy Funeral Chapel.

Burial: Highland Home Cemetery, Jamestown , North Dakota.
