John ""Jack"" Ralph Malard, 78, Jamestown, North Dakota died Monday, September 22, 2008 at MeritCare Hospital in Fargo, ND.
Jack was born June 30, 1930 on a farm southeast of Bismarck, ND, the son of William Spencer and Margaret (Hasse) Malard. He attended rural school in Apple Creek township near Bismarck. Jack entered the US Marine Corp on December 11, 1951 in Minneapolis and served in the Asiatic Pacific Theater, during the Korean conflict. Upon his discharge on March 26, 1955 he returned to North Dakota. On July 21, 1956 he married Janice Dent in Jamestown. He worked in construction and as a farm laborer all his life.
Jack is survived by three children, Justine Haugen, William Malard and Judy (Mark) Lundgren, all of Jamestown; three grandsons, Wade and William Haugen and Miles Lundgren; and one brother, Edwin (Valda) Malard, Moffit, ND.
He was preceded in death by his parents; six sisters; and one brother.
Memorial Service: 2:00 PM, Thursday, September 25, 2008 at the Eddy Funeral Chapel, Jamestown.
