Jack K Mcdonald

August 15, 1938 — February 25, 2023

Jack K. McDonald passed away peacefully on February 25th, 2023 in Jamestown, North Dakota.  He was born on August 15, 1938, the son of Burt and Aldene McDonald. He spent the majority of his life in Eldridge, North Dakota, with the exception of a short time living in Montana, which sparked a life long love of that State.

Jack married Yvonne Munson on September 14, 1958.  They established a home in Eldridge where they raised their family and operated Eldridge Salvage and then McDonald Trucking, which they operated for many years.

Jack had a lifelong passion for motorsports. He had a pilot’s license for many years and owned several planes that he enjoyed flying.  He was a devoted Harley Davidson enthusiast and owned several over the years. Jack always looked forward to attending the Sturgis Bike Rally, which he did for over 50 years.

In the 1970’s Jack resumed the stock car racing career he had started in his youth with a great deal of continued success. He was well known for his #100 Purina checkerboard late model along with his colorful personality. After he retired from racing, he maintained the Jamestown Speedway for several years, and became an avid Nascar fan.

Jack and Yvonne enjoyed traveling in their coach buses, which Jack converted to RVs. They spent many years wintering in Florida and later Arizona.

Jack is survived by his wife Yvonne, two children, Melody Yeager and Jay (Carol) McDonald, one granddaughter Amy (Clayton) Wagamon and two great grandchildren, Callan and Lainey. He was preceded in death by his parents and his son-in-law, Kevin Yeager.

A Memorial Service will be held at a later date.

Eddy Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
