Jack Glenwin White, 81, Jamestown, North Dakota, died Tuesday, January 25, 2005 at Hi-Acres Manor Nursing Home, Jamestown.
Jack was born April 12, 1923 in Stutsman County, North Dakota the son of Lennie Dowel and Cecil Irene (Brodersen) White. He attended school in Pingree and helped on the family farm until age 21. Jack married Doris Graves on June 30, 1944. He moved to California and sold restaurant equipment for some time. He later moved to Boise, Idaho and worked at various jobs. Jack returned to Jamestown in 1978 where he owned and operated the Jamestown Taxi Service unitl his retirement in 1994. Jack married Jean Ritter Burgett on December 27, 1993 in Sioux Falls, South Dakota.
Jack is survived by his wife, Jean of Jamestown, a daughter, Launa (Richard) Baranco, Boise, ID, three grandchildren, Jessica Speck, Lisa Roberts and Brett Baranco, five great-granddaughters and two sisters, Lois Pfaff and DeLoris (Gene) Gossett, both of Jamestown.
He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, Harold and Donald and three sisters, Bette, Ellen and Sharlene.
Funeral Service: 11:00 AM, Friday, January 28, 2005 at the First Church of the Nazarene, Jamestown with Rev. Richard Reynolds officiating.
Visitation: 1:00 to 8:00 PM, Thursday, January 27, 2005 at the Eddy Funeral Home.
Burial: Pingree Cemetery, Pingree, North Dakota.
