Jacqueline Rae Oker, 61, Jamestown, North Dakota died Wednesday, September 10, 2003 in her home. Jackie Stroh was born September 25, 1941 in Jamestown the daughter of Jack and Margaret (Wehler) Stroh . She graduated from Jamestown High School and went to work at the Parkway Café in Jamestown. She married Michael Oker in 1966. Jackie moved to Minneapolis where she worked for Hennepin County General for 11 years and later for the City of Minneapolis at the Minnesota Convention Center. She also worked for Lyndale Garden Center in Minneapolis. She moved back to Jamestown in 2002 to care for her parents. In the 1950's she was a two-time roller skating champion.
She enjoyed music, dancing and photograhpy. Jackie's greatest joy in life was her children and grandchildren. She blessed them with her love of music, art, nature, cooking and laughter. She shared her unconditional love and endless patience with so many. There was always room in her heart and home for anyone who needed to be loved. We are grateful for her presence in our lives and loving spirit that we will be able to keep with us always.
Jackie is survived by her parents, Jack and Margaret Stroh, Jamestown; one daughter, Kelli Oker, Minneapolis, MN; two sons, Micheal (Bernadette) and Tony (Julie), both of Minneapolis; her mother-in-law, Martha Struss, Minneapolis; beloved grandchildren, Andre, Natasha, Katrina, Candice, Micheal, Carmen, Keisha, Michael, Antone, Taylor and Lacy and great-grandchildren, Tytina and Shalaya, one sister, Sandra (Gary) Sahr and one brother, Gary (Deb) Stroh, both of Jamestown and many nieces and nephews.
Memorial Service: 1:00 PM, Sunday, September 14, 2003 at St. Paul's United Methodist Church, Jamestown with Rev. Donald Crippen officiating.
No visitation is planned.
