James Lytle

James (Jim) R. Lytle, 68, Jamestown, North Dakota died Wednesday, December 13, 2006 at Jamestown Hospital.

Jim was born January 26, 1938 in Jamestown, ND the son of John A. and Mae Laura (Smith) Lytle. He graduated from St. Johns Academy in Jamestown and attended North Dakota State University. He entered the US Army on December 4th, 1961 in Fargo, ND and was stationed in Colorado and later in Germany. He was discharged at Ft. Dix, NJ on December 4, 1963 and returned to Jamestown where he worked for a lumber yard. On February 14, 1975 Jim married Judy Hofmann in Medina, ND. They made their home in Jamestown where he worked with Lefevre Sales and then finished his career with Wedgcor, retiring in 2002. Jim was a member of the Elks, American Legion, V.F.W., Eagles and the Medina Sportsmans Club. He enjoyed cooking, hunting and fishing with his sons & friends, restoring cars with his son, Tim, and especially spending time with his grandkids.

Jim is survived by his wife, Judy, of Jamestown; two sons, Tim, Jamestown, (currently serving in Iraq) and Bill (Michelle) Lytle, Scottsdale, AZ; two grandkids, Mikenzi and Chase; two brothers Marvin ?Bud? (Ceal) Wallum, Vancouver, WA. And Thomas (Martha Ann) Lytle, Woodlands, TX.

He is preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, William and Jack in infancy and one sister-in-law, Helen Francis (Francy).

Memorial Service: 3:30 PM Sunday, December 17, 2006 at Eddy Funeral Chapel in Jamestown with father John McGinnis officiating.

Burial: Tuesday, December 19, 2006 12:00 AM at the North Dakota Veterans Cemetery, Mandan, North Dakota. Color Guard provided by the Bismarck AMVETS.
