James Perry

James Perry, 69, Jamestown, North Dakota died Wednesday, March 18, 2015 at Essentia Hospital, Fargo, North Dakota. James Perry was born September 6, 1945 in Jamestown, North Dakota to Orville and Edith (Scholz) Perry. He attended and graduated from Jamestown High School in 1963. Jim entered the US Navy in 1963 and was honorably discharged in 1966. One of the countries Jim served in was Guam. He was employed at various jobs including the railroad, driver for Coke Cola, janitor for Jamestown Public Schools and driver for James River Transit. In March of 1988, Jim married Marlys Chenze. He enjoyed fishing and hunting with his grandson, Taylor, loved making pickles with granddaughter Tiffany and loved taking granddaughter Cassidy to Dairy Queen. Jim also enjoyed woodworking and puttering around the yard. He is survived by his wife, Marlys, Jamestown, ND; children, David (Gloria) Chenze, Sheyenne, ND, Diana (Jeff) Olson, Jamestown, Chris Chenze, Jamestown, Mike (Tami) Chenze, Bakersfield, CA, Lisa Chenze, Detroit Lakes, MN; ten grandchildren and five great-grandchildren; one brother, Darrel (Judy) Perry, Jamestown; two sisters, Elaine Loiland, Bagley, MN, Joann (Les) Putnam, Montpelier, ND. Jim was preceded in death by his parents and two sisters, Patty Fossen and Marion Borchert.

Memorial Service: 1:30 PM, Monday, March 23, 2015 at St. John's Lutheran Church, Jamestown, ND with Pastor Erik Weber, officiating.
No Visitation.
Burial: Eldridge Cemetery.
