James Purcell, 79, of Jamestown, ND, passed away at his home Wednesday afternoon, June 6, 2018.
James was born January 11, 1939, in Carrington, ND, the son of Ervin and Irene (Krapp) Purcell. He graduated from high school and began working for Burlington Northern Railroad. James married Mary Ann Marsolek on March 15, 1960 in Jamestown. He retired from the railroad after 43 years. James was a member of the Elk’s and Concordia Lutheran Church, Jamestown.
James is survived by his wife, Mary Ann Purcell, Jamestown; children, Robert Purcell, Jerry Purcell, and Terry Purcell, all of Jamestown; grandson, Nathaniel Purcell, Jamestown; and sister, Diane Purcell.
He was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Kathleen Ackerman.
Funeral Service: 10:30 a.m., Monday, June 11, 2018 at Concordia Lutheran Church, with Rev. Tom Eckstein officiating.
Visitation: 6:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., Sunday, June 10, 2018 at Williams Funeral Home, Jamestown and one hour before the service at the church.
Prayer Service: 7:00 p.m., Sunday, June 10, 2018 at Williams Funeral Home, Jamestown.
Burial: Highland Home Cemetery, Jamestown.
