James A Reber

James A. (Jim) Reber, 92, Jamestown died Monday, September 14, 2015 at Eventide Jamestown. Jim was born September 27, 1922 in rural Albertville, Wisconsin, the son of Ralph and Della (McCoy) Reber. He grew up and received his education and graduated from Albertville High School. Following graduation he worked for farmers in the Albertville area. He entered the U.S. Army on April 13, 1944 in Long Prairie, MN and served in World War II. He was discharged on September 13, 1945 at Fort Sheridan, IL.
Jim moved to Albert Lea, MN where he worked for a garage business. In 1945 he moved to Minneapolis and worked for the U.S. Postal Service until 1956. He later worked as a machinist for Farmland in Hopkins, MN, and after that for Whrol Air Flow for 14 years in Minneapolis. In 1983 he moved to Jamestown and did painting, snow removal, and yard work for friends.
His hobbies included fishing, hunting, flying,and watching the Minnesota Twins.
Jim is survived by his wife, Gloria Dawson Reber, Jamestown, daughter, Cathy (Raymond) Sharp, Minneapolis, MN, two grandchildren, one great grandchild, three sisters, Mildred Randall, Kate Smith, and Doris Soderland.
He was preceded in death by two wives, one son, (James), an infant son, (Tommy), and a brother, (William Brown).
Funeral Service; 11:00 am, Saturday, September 19, 2015 at Eddy Funeral Home with Pastor Bryce Tahran officiating
Visitation; One hour before service.
