James L. Walters, 63, of Jamestown, ND, passed away Wednesday night, March 27, 2019 at Ave Maria Village, Jamestown.
James was born March 14, 1956, in Jamestown, the son of Harry and Ida (Miner) Walters. He grew up in Bloom Township and attended Jamestown High School, graduating in 1974. Jim studied electronics at North Dakota State School of Science. He worked on the railroad with BNSF for some time. Jim operated J&R’s Communications for a few years and also worked at the North Dakota State Hospital. In 1995, Jim began his career at Jamestown Communications where he worked until 2017.
Jim enjoyed reading, especially Stephen King novels, watching Minnesota Twins baseball, and cheering for the Minnesota Vikings. He also enjoyed attending Bible studies and spending time with his grandchildren.
Jim is survived by his two sons, Matthew (fiancée, Sara) and Chris (Heidi); two grandchildren, Sheena and Brantley; special friend, Rayette Brown; brother, Richard (Deanna); and sister, Phyllis (Bill) Sutherland; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents and grandparents.
Funeral Service: 10:30 a.m., Tuesday, April 2, 2019 at St. John’s Lutheran Church, Jamestown.
Visitation: 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., Monday, April 1, 2019 at Williams Funeral Home, Jamestown.
Spring Interment: Highland Home Cemetery, Jamestown.
