Janice Hofmann

Janice Hofmann, 79, died Wednesday, March 22, 2017 at Rock of Ages in Jamestown. Janice Marie Krieger was born June 6, 1937 in Fredonia, ND of the late Gottlieb and Elizabeth (Dorr) Krieger. She grew up and attended school near Tappen, ND. She was united in marriage to Benjamin "Bennie" Hofmann on October 25, 1952 at Medina, ND. They lived and farmed near Medina, ND. Bennie passed away on October 22, 1997, with Janice by her side. Janice worked on the farm milking cows, feeding chickens, doing the books and other various tasks with her husband and children. She enjoyed gardening, flowers, reading, church services, Bible study, and most recently loved holding and playing with her great-grandbaby, Claire.
Janice is survived by her children, Dean Hofmann, Jamestown, ND, Lana (Kenny) Hylden, Park River, ND and Daniel Hofmann, Medina, ND.
three sisters, Adeline Kalmback, Rapid City, SD, Bernice (Sam) Clauson, Rapid City, SD, Sandy Schumacher, Grand Junction, CO., brother, Dale (Diane) Krieger, Arvada, CO, three grandchildren, Christine (Jared) Ohma, Edinburg, ND, Benjamin Hylden, Park River, ND and Andrew Hylden, Park River, ND. one great granddaughter, Claire Arlene Ohma. Several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Bennie Hofmann, son, Mark Hofmann, brother, James Krieger, and sister Evelyn Lang.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, March 29, 2017 at 10:30 AM in the First Assembly of God Church in Jamestown. Eddy Funeral Home in care of arrangements. Visitation will be one hour prior to service. Burial will take place in Medina Cemetery.
