Janice Sabinash

Janice Marie (Skarloken) Sabinash, 84, Jamestown, ND passed away peacefully on October 11, 2022 at the SMP Health-Ave Maria Nursing Home.

Janice was born on January 10, 1938 to Otis and Alice (Nelson) Skarloken in Courtenay, ND.  She grew up in the towns of Sutton, Edmonds, Diesem and Courtenay, ND.  Janice went to school in Courtenay and graduated May 24, 1956.

Janice married John R. Sabinash in Jamestown, ND on February 4, 1959 and their marriage was blessed with two sons, Douglas and Dale and one daughter, Bonnie.  Janice worked for NW Bell Telephone Company and AT and T for 26 years in Jamestown and Fargo, ND until she retired in September of 1990.  She was a member of the Telephone Pioneers, VFW Auxiliary and Concordia Lutheran Church.

She is survived by her children Douglas (Candace) Sabinash, Mora, MN, Bonnie (John) Sweley, Sidney, MT, Dale (Leann) Sabinash, Bismarck, ND; her grandchildren Dustin Seiler, Fargo, ND, Zackery Stewart, Grangeville, ID, Kass Milne, Fargo, ND, Kameron (Lauren) Milne, Whitewood, SD; her great-grandchildren Dawson and Sawyer Stewart, Grangeville, ID and Tenleigh Milne, Whitewood, SD; one sister Eileen Fuglstad, Fargo, ND.

Janice was preceded in death by her parents, Otis and Alice (Nelson) Skarloken, step-father Erling Fuglstad, husband John R. Sabinash, sisters Leah, Edith, brothers Virgil, Wallace, LeRoy, Floyd, Chester and Silas.

Visitation will be held one hour before the service.  Funeral service will be 1:00 PM, Tuesday, October 18, 2022 at Concordia Lutheran Church, Jamestown, ND with Pastor Tom Eckstein officiating.  Interment will be in Sunset Memorial Gardens, Jamestown, ND.
