Jared P. Bjornson, 33, of Jamestown, ND, died Friday, September 2, 2011 at Jamestown Regional Medical Center, Jamestown.

Jared Paul Bjornson was born December 23, 1977, in Glendive, MT, the son of Marvin and Susan (Bradley) Bjornson. He grew up in Jamestown and graduated high school in Beaverton, MT. Jared joined the Army Reserve on April 25, 1997 in Portland OR. After his enlistment, Jared joined Job Corp. in Minot, ND. He married Melissa Morkve in August of 2002. They lived in Jamestown where he was employed, most recently at Hardee's Restaurant.

Jared enjoyed fishing, playing pinochle and cribbage, making wine, watching and reading science fiction, and joking around. He especially loved spending time with his family.

He is survived by his son, Nicholas, Jamestown; mother, Susan Kollman, Jamestown; father, Marvin Bjornson, China; fiancée, Sandy Benson and her children, Corey, Jessica, and Robert, all of Jamestown; three sisters, Jennifer Elhard, Fargo, Sara Bjornson and Amanda Bjornson, both of Arizona; one brother, Mikkel Bjornson, Kansas; and two nieces and two nephews.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents and brother-in-law, Andrew Elhard.

Funeral Service: 10:00 am, Tuesday, September 13, 2011, at Assembly of God Church, Jamestown with Pastor Darrell Losing officiating.

Visitation: 9:00 am to 7:00 pm, Monday, September 12, 2011 at Williams-Lisko Funeral Chapel, Jamestown.

Prayer Service: 7:00 pm, Monday, September 12, 2011 at Williams-Lisko Funeral Chapel.

Burial: North Dakota Veterans Cemetery, Mandan, ND.
