Jean Hanson, 82, Jamestown, ND passed away Sunday, September 20, 2020 at St. Rose Care Center, LaMoure, ND.
Jean Ranallo was born September 26, 1937 in Jamestown, ND to Albert and Beulah Ranallo. She grew up in Eldridge, ND where she attended elementary school, she later moved to Jamestown and attended Jamestown High School. Jean graduated in 1955.
She married Arnold Hanson and moved to Adrian, ND and then on to Nortonville, ND. She was a busy farm wife and mother of four children; Jeff, Jenifer, Leah and Lisa.
In 1980, Jean moved back to Jamestown and began her career as a retail sales associate. In 2012, Jean retired from JC Penny’s after 28 years with the company.
Jean enjoyed her retirement and spent time with her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. In 2014, Jean was diagnosed with cancer and free until August 2020. She fought a brave battle till the end.
Jean is survived by her children Jeff (Monica) Hanson, Shepherd, MT, Jenifer Shivers (Tim Hilliard), Wasilla, AK, Leah Dallmann (Keith Taxis), Edgeley, ND, Lisa Lee, Phoenix, AZ; grandchildren Garrett, Mariah, Paige, Elena, Mya, Gracie and Sophie; great grandchildren Olivia, Aubreanna, Violet and Amelia. Jean was preceded in death by her parents, two grandchildren Cole and Lane Shivers.
Jean was such a kind and loving person and will be greatly missed but we know she is in God’s healing hands at peace.
Funeral service will be held at 10:00 AM, Saturday, September 26, 2020 at Eddy Funeral Home with Pastor Michelle Brennan officiating. Visitation will be one hour before the service. Interment will take place in Highland Home Cemetery.
