Jeanne Lee Cobb, 96, LaMoure, North Dakota, formerly of Jamestown, ND, died Monday, September 13, 2010 at St. Rose Care Center, LaMoure, ND.

Jeanne was born March 14, 1914 in Aberdeen, South Dakota, the daughter of Lars G. and Marion I. (Hay) Lee. She graduated from Central High School in Aberdeen, SD in 1931 and from Northern State College in Aberdeen and the University of Minnesota, Minneapolis, MN. Jeanne married Elmer MacDonald Cobb in 1946 in Washington, D.C. They had one daughter, Judith Cobb Martin. Jeanne taught fourth grade in South Dakota for eleven years and was employed by the War Department in the intelligence division of the Signal Corps in Washington, D.C. for three years. While living in Jamestown, she was head librarian of Alfred Dickey Public Library for 15 years, retiring in 1977.

Jeanne was a member of Grace Episcopal Church, Jamestown, where she taught Sunday school, was a member of the church choir and served as president of the Women's Auxiliary. She held membership in Sigma Delta Epsilon, PEO, Portfolio Club, Cultural Interests group of AAUW, Jamestown Fine Arts, and the ND Library Association. She worked on the Bicentennial Commission and the North Dakota Heritage Fund in Jamestown. She was listed in Who's Who of American Women (1974-1975) and Who's Who in the Midwest (1976-1977).

Jeanne is survived by her daughter, Judith Martin, LaMoure, ND.

She was preceded in death by her husband; parents; and brother, Robert L. Lee.
