Jeannette Schultz, 73, Jamestown, North Dakota died Tuesday, March 1, 2005 at her home in Jamestown.
Jeannette LaVerne Sommerfeld was born October 17, 1931 on a farm near Embden, North Dakota the daughter of William and Gladys (Kellerman) Sommerfeld. She was baptized and confirmed in St. John's Lutheran Church, Embden. She attended grade school in Embden and graduated from high school in Enderlin. She was active in Luther League. Jeannette attended business college in Fargo, ND and worked for the Bell Telephone Company. She married Darrell Schultz on June 10, 1952 at St. John's Lutheran Church in Embden. They lived in St. Francisco, South Gate and King City, CA and Scranton and Golden Valley, ND before retiring in Jamestown in 1993 where she was a member of Atonement Lutheran Church, Jamestown. Over the years she taught Sunday School, Vacation Bible School, was active in church women's organizations and did quilting for Lutheran World Relief.
Jeannette is survived by her husband, Darrell of Jamestown, five children, Steven, Simi Valley, CA; Timothy (Maureen), Westchester, CA; David (Xuan), Tucson, AZ; Michael (Linda), Simi Valley, CA and Kenneth, Simi Valley, CA, seven grandchildren, three brothers, Harley (Carol) Sommerfeld, Mahnomen, MN; Herbert (Anita) Sommerfeld, Embden and Duane (Barbara) Sommerfeld, Forest Lake, MN, one sister, Shirley (David) Bordeaux, Sioux Falls, SD and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
Memorials may be made to Lutheran World Relief or Badland Ministries Bible Camp at Medora, ND.
Funeral Service: 10:30 AM, Friday, March 4, 2005 at Atonement Lutheran Church with Rev. Steve Berntson officiating.
Visitation: 1:00 to 8:00 PM, Thursday, March 3, 2005 at the Eddy Funeral Home
Burial: St. John Cemetery, Embden, North Dakota.
