Jeannine E. Carlascio

December 3, 1928 — May 17, 2016

Jeannine E. Carlascio passed away on May 17, 2016 at Jamestown Regional Medical Center after an unbelievably courageous 8 year battle against cancer.

Jeannine E. Blake was born on December 3, 1928 at Albert Lea, MN to Clate D. and Zellamae (Averill) Blake, later moving to Jamestown, ND as a young girl with her family. She graduated from Jamestown High School in 1947 where she was prom queen in 1946. After high school Jeannine worked as a telephone operator for Northwestern Bell until she married Anthony J. Carlascio on May 15, 1950. Mom gave birth to three sons who became her life. She was the consummate wife, mother and homemaker who always said…”if her sons were happy, she was happy!” Jeannine was also a life member of the DAV Auxiliary, a member of the United Presbyterian Church, and one of the founding members of the Elkettes BPOE Lodge #995. She was also a talented artist, her stained glass work stands as a testament to that. She also spent many hours working in her flower garden and tending to the flowers around her home including growing the most beautiful roses anybody has seen anywhere. When people think of Jeannine two words stand out: Class and Courage, I’m not sure which one stands out more, she had so much of both ! A beautiful woman both inside and out, she was loved by many and will be missed by all who knew her.

Jeannine is survived by her sons, Stephen A. Carlascio, Jamestown, ND, Bart M. (Kari) Carlascio, Bismarck, ND, Tony J. Carlascio, Jr., Bismarck, ND; sister, Colleen Blake Porter (Howard) of Turlock, CA; 5 grandchildren; 3 great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Anthony J. Carlascio; parents, Clate D. Blake and Zellamae Averill Blake; sister, June Blake Schauer; and brother, Clate D. Blake, Jr.
