Jerome Zalumskis

Jerome ""Jerry"" Zalumskis, 39, Jamestown, North Dakota died Tuesday, August 24, 2004 at Jamestown Hospital, Jamestown.

Jerry Zalumskis was born on September 2, 1964 in Fargo, North Dakota, the son of Stan and Mamie (Parker) Zalumskis. He was an ""Air Force Brat"" until 1972 when the family moved to Riverdale, ND. He graduated from St. Mary's High School in Bismarck, ND in May 1983. Jerry attended Bismarck State College for two years and earned a degree in criminal justice. Jerry worked security and private investigation in the Bismarck-Mandan area until March 1989 when he began working for the North Dakota State Department of Corrections & Rehabilitation. In the spring of 1998 he moved to Jamestown to work at the James River Correctional Center.

He was a member of the ND Peace Officers Association and the NRA.

In December 2002 Jerry married Erin Schlagel, the love of his life. Jerry was a loving, devoted, husband and father who will forever be cherished by his family and friends.

Jerry loved hunting, spending time outdoors, camping; especially in the Badlands and mountains of Montana and most of all spending time with his family.

Jerry is survived by his wife, Erin and two daughters, Sydney of Jamestown and Rebecah of Lennox, IA, his parents, Stan & Mamie Zalumskis, Bismarck, father & mother-in-law, Perry & Sylvia Schlagel, Enderlin, ND and a sister-in-law, Amy Schlagel, Fargo, ND.

He was preceded in death by a brother, William, and his maternal and paternal grandparents.

Funeral Mass: 10:30 AM, Saturday, August 28, 2004 at the Basilica of St. James with Father Al Bitz officiating.

Visitation: 11:00 AM to 9:00 PM, Friday, August 27, 2004 at the Eddy Funeral Home

Prayer Vigil: 7:00 PM, Friday, August 27, 2004 at the Eddy Funeral Chapel.
