Jerry Dunn

Jerry L. Dunn, 87, of Jamestown, ND, died Saturday, May 15, 2010, at Jamestown Hospital, Jamestown, ND.

Jerry L. Dunn was born on March 17, 1923, in Jamestown, the son of William and Emma (Wiese) Dunn. Jerry was raised in Jamestown, attended Franklin Elementary, and graduated from Jamestown High School. He worked in the Forts Hospital at Ft. Lewis, WA. Jerry joined the Marine Corps in 1942. He served in areas of the Pacific during WWII and was discharged in 1945. Jerry returned to Jamestown and attended Jamestown College. Jerry and Annette Carlascio were married on November 29, 1949 at St. James Basilica, Jamestown. They made their home in Jamestown where Jerry worked for the Gladstone Hotel Company, and later for the US Postal Service, retiring in 1989. Jerry was a member of St. James Basilica, the V.F.W., and the American Legion.

Jerry's family was his top priority. He enjoyed gardening, hunting, fishing and fireworks.

Jerry is survived by five daughters, Jacqueline (Allen) Tews, Jamestown; Nancy (Clyde) Schmidt, Minot, ND; Jean Hagel(David Donegan), Jamestown, ND; Barbara (Duane) Johnson, Thompson, ND; Elizabeth (Brad) Kapp, Jamestown, ND; one son, Jerry Thomas Dunn, Jamestown, ND; 10 grandchildren: Patricia Romias, Nathan Romias, Michael Dunn, Brandy Schmidt, Matthew Hagel, Chelsey Hagel, Brandi Bubach, Bailey Bubach, Ryan Bubach, and Amanda Kapp; three great-grandchildren, Jonah Olson, Justice Olson, and Jaycee Simmons; one brother, Bert Dunn, Jamestown, ND; one sister, Betty (George) Nordling, Reno, NV and special friends, Heather and Teresa Martini.

He was preceded in death by his parents; wife; three sisters: Irene Dunn, Lucille Hinger, and Verna McKenzie and one brother, Fred Dunn.

Funeral Mass: 2:00 p.m. Thursday, May 20, 2010 at St. James Basilica, Jamestown, ND, with Father John McGinnis officiating.

Visitation: 9:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. Wednesday, May 19, 2010 at Lisko Funeral Chapel, Jamestown.

Vigil: 7:00 p.m. Wednesday, May 19, 2010 at Lisko Funeral Chapel, Jamestown.

Burial: Calvary Cemetery, Jamestown.
