Jerry "G.I. Joe" Reger, 79, Moorhead, MN, formerly of Jamestown, ND, died Wednesday, August 13, 2008 at Golden Living Nursing Center, Moorhead, MN.
Jerome Nicolas Reger was born September 10, 1928 at Casselton, ND, the son of Joseph and Susan (Schmit) Reger. He attended school at Menahga, MN. On July 28, 1953, he entered the United States Army and served in Germany until his discharge on May 24, 1955. He returned to Minnesota and then moved to Jamestown, ND where he worked as a carpenter and a tree trimmer for Fritz Hieb. In the fall of 2007, he entered Golden Living Nursing Center, Moorhead, MN.
Survivors include a friend, Connie Sabinash, Jamestown, ND; 4 siblings: Helen Bell, Arkansas; Kathryn "Jo" Brown, Colorado; James (Vonda) Greis, Arkansas; a twin sister, Eleanor (Norman) Stedman, Arkansas.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Funeral - 7:30 p.m. Saturday, August 16, 2008 at Lisko Funeral Chapel, Jamestown, ND.
Visitation - 1 hour prior to services at the funeral home on Saturday
Interment - Fort Snelling National Cemetery, Minneapolis, MN
