Joe M. Johnson

Joe M. Johnson, 76, of Jamestown, ND passed away peacefully at his home on February 21, 2004.

Joe M. Johnson was born January 18, 1928, near Svold, ND to Jonathan and Christine (Stepenson) Johnson where he grew up and attended school. Joe worked for farmers around the Walhalla - Cavalier, ND area. In 1970 he moved to Jamestown and began working for the North Dakota State Hospital for the grounds department until retiring in January 1993. He was united in marriage to Phyllis Wipf, formerly of Bowdon, ND, on July 24, 1970 in Jamestown.

Joe enjoyed doing wood working and going out for coffee with the guys. The love of his life were his two grandchildren, Zachary and Hannah.

He is survived by his wife, Phyllis Johnson of Jamestown; one daughter, Nancy (Vincent Clark) Johnson of Aurora, CO; two grandchildren, Zachary and Hannah of Aurora, CO; one brother, Robert Johnson of Jamestown; and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; six brothers, Hjalmer, Ole, Pete, William, Kelly, and Sig; and three sisters, Andrea, Bena, and Sigrun.

Memorial Service: 10:30AM Friday, February 27, 2004 at the Eddy Funeral Chapel with Pastor Bryce Tahran officiating.

No visitation scheduled.

Burial: Bowdon Cemetery, at a later date.
