Joel Holzer, 52, Mapleton, ND died Friday, July 27, 2007 at MeritCare Hospital, Fargo, ND from natural causes.
Joel Benedict Holzer was born on August 14, 1954 at Williston, ND the son of Benedict and Jerri (Gordon) Holzer. He moved with his parents to Jamestown, ND and attended school in Jamestown graduating from Jamestown High School in 1972. He then attended Wahpeton State School of Science and graduated as a chef in 1974. Joel worked at the Ramada Inn in Fargo and Grand Forks as a chef. He later worked for Dakota Foods and Restaurant Equipment for 23 years and was recently employed by Remington Seed Co. of Mapleton, ND.
Joel is survived by his parents, Jamestown, ND; a brother David (Rhonda), West Fargo, ND; a sister Carla Holzer, Jamestown, ND; 1 niece, Katie Holzer, Mayville, ND and a great nephew, Robby Taylor, Mayville, ND. He was preceded in death by his paternal and maternal grandparents.
Joel was a member of the Twist of Fate organization. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, playing guitar and enjoyed interacting with his special friend, his dog Tess.
Funeral Service: 10:00 a.m. Thursday, August 2, 2007 at The Basilica Of St. James, Jamestown, ND.
Prayer Service: 7:30 p.m. Wednesday, August 1, 2007 at Lisko Funeral Chapel, Jamestown, ND.
Visitation: 9:00 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. Wednesday at Lisko Funeral Chapel and 1 hour prior to services at the church on Thursday.
Interment: Calvary Cemetery, Jamestown, ND.
