Josephine Borr Ault, 96, Jamestown, North Dakota, died Thursday, December 9, 2004 at Central Dakota Village in Jamestown.
Joey was born on April 26, 1908, at rural Westfield, North Dakota, to Wieger and Cornelia (Bootsma) Rodenburg. She received her bachelor's degree at Hope College, Holland, MI, in 1931, and did post-graduate work in English and speech at the University of Minnesota in 1932-33. Joey held teaching positions in North Dakota and worked at the Jamestown College library.
Joey married James Borr, on November 10, 1939, in Moorhead, MN. Jim passed away November 27, 1989. She married Richard Ault in Jamestown on November 28, 1993. Dick passed away January 17, 1999.
She was an artist whose work in water color, oils and mixed media have won awards and high praise at Fine Arts Association shows. Her work entitled ""Steeples of Jamestown"" was reproduced on note paper and is being sold to benefit a Stutsman County charity. She was also a championship golfer and enjoyed traveling.
Joey was a member of the United Presbyterian Church in Jamestown and the AB Chapter of the P.E.O. She was committed to her church and the community she loved. She proved encouragement and support for women to realize their potential in whatever worthwhile endeavor they chose.
Joey is survived by her nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, James and husband, Richard, five brothers, Andy, Sidney, Frank, Henry and Clarence and one sister, Amy.
Memorial Service: 2:00 PM, Wednesday, December 15, 2004 at the Strasburg Reformed Church in Strasburg, ND.
No visitation is scheduled.
Burial: Pilgrim Home Cemetery, Strasburg, North Dakota.
