John E. Enderle, 91, Jamestown, North Dakota died Tuesday, June 26, 2007 at Jamestown Hospital.
John was born July 14, 1915 in Richardton, ND, the son of Joseph and Mary (Billman) Enderle. He attended school at the Assumption Abbey in Richarton. During World War II John worked in the Brooklyn Navy Yards. John was a welder and when he returned to North Dakota, he owned and managed his own business, Machine Shop, Inc. On August 24, 1942 John married Mary S. Samuels at St. James Catholic Church in Jamestown. John and Mary were married for 59 1/2 years.
John was a member of the St. James Basilica, the Knights of Columbus and a 50 year member of the Jamestown Elks.
John is survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Cathleen & Steve Nelson, Westborough, MA; two grandsons, Jon D. (Rebecca) Nelson, Marlsborough, MA and Erik M. (Carol) Nelson, Shrewsbury, MA; two great-grandsons, Cole and Cade Nelson; three brothers, Werner Enderle, Helena, MT, Joe Enderle, Richardton, ND and Herman Enderle, Philadelphia, PA; and two sisters, Ruth Brown, Bismarck, ND and Ramona Brown, Portland, OR.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary; his parents; four brothers, Frank, Fred, Leo and Walter and one sister, Mary.
Funeral Mass: 2:00 PM, Friday, June 29, 2007 at the St. James Basilica in Jamestown with Father Joe Barrett presiding.
Visitation: 5:00 to 7:00 PM, Thursday, June 28, 2007 at the Eddy Funeral Home in Jamestown.
Burial: Calvary Cemetery, Jamestown, North Dakota.
