John Kroff, 82, Jamestown, ND, died Friday, July 25, 2008 at his home in Jamestown.
John Kroff was born June 1, 1926 in Banya Luka, Yugoslavia, the son of John and Christina (Ebertz) Kroff. He attended school in Banya Luka and was then sent to Germany for Machinist Training and Certification. He came to the United States in 1950 and soon thereafter, became a citizen. John worked at Mickelson Motors, Jamestown, ND as a machinist. On June 9, 1956, he married Marilyn Maurer at Kalispell, MT. He began working at the North Dakota State Hospital in 1951 as a Master Trades Worker until he retired in June, 1989. In addition, in 1961, he bought a farm west of Jamestown where they lived and farmed.
John was a member of St. James Basilica, the Knights of Columbus and the Elks. He enjoyed hunting and fishing and loved his farm, looking at his crops and comparing his to other farmers' crops. He loved rural life.
He is survived by his wife, Marilyn.
John was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Francis.

Visitation - noon to 7:00 p.m. Sunday, July 27, 2008 at Lisko Funeral Chapel, Jamestown, ND and 1 hour prior to services at the church on Monday
Interment - Calvary Cemetery, Jamestown, ND
