John Pfaff

John Pfaff, 88, of Tappen, ND died November 17, 2003 at his home. John Pfaff was born September 7, 1915 the son of Simon Sr. and Katherina (Mittleider) Pfaff. He was united in marriage with Elvina Roemmich on October 18, 1938 in Tappen. They made their home on his family's homestead near Tappen. John worked hard on the farm and enjoyed baling hay, building yard sheds, and fixing balers. He shared many precious memories of his life with his children and grandchildren. John was concerned with the lives of each and everyone and always took time for his family and friends. Elvina died November 14, 1987.

John was a member of the Zion United Methodist Church, Tappen.

John is survived by two sons, Ervin (Verna) Pfaff, and Dennis (Sara) Pfaff both of Tappen; three sisters, Bertha (Emil) Roemmich, Mary (Harold) Weixel, and Esther (Jim) Schumacher, all of Jamestown; four brothers, David (Marcy) Pfaff, Art (Delores) Pfaff, Elmer (Betty) Pfaff, and Simon (Hertha) Pfaff, all of Tappen; 14 grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great grandchild.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Elvina; a brother, Jacob; a son, Melvin; a daughter, Viona; and a grandson, William Jay (Billy).

Funeral Service: 10:00AM Friday, November 21, 2003 at Zion United Methodist Church, Tappen, ND with Revs. Stan Bockwoldt and Clayton Schaeffer officiating.

Visitation: Thursday, November 20, 2003 from 9:00AM to 9:00PM at the Eddy Funeral Home, Jamestown.

Prayer Service: 7:00PM Thursday, November 20, 2003 at the Eddy Funeral Home.

Burial: Fisher Cemetery, Tappen, ND.
