John E. Randall Sr.

John E. Randall, Sr., Robinson, North Dakota passed away at the age of 80, Sunday, May 11, 2008 at St. Aloisius Hospital in Harvey, ND.

John was born May 18, 1927 to Edgar and Annie (Farrington) Randall in South Merkel Township near Robinson. John married Betty Wolfe of Goodrich, ND on November 24, 1948 in Goodrich. They lived on the home place until moving to the former Herman Legler farm in 1960.

John enjoyed life to its fullest. In his younger years he loved to hunt and fish. John loved his cows and to check them with ""Old Blue"" his faithful pickup. He could often be found going up and down the field in his tractor, sun up to sundown.

John and Betty semi-retired and moved into Robinson in 1996 where he resided until his death.

John was on the Robinson School Board, Robinson Lions Club with 33 years perfect attendance being a tail twister for most of his 33 years, Robinson Fire Department and a 30 year member of the Weather Observers Network.

John is survived by his wife, Betty, of 59 years, Robinson; two sons, John, Jr., and Doyle (Betty) Randall, Robinsdale, MN; two daughters, Betty Schultes, Rushville, NE and Colleen (Wendell) Hoff, Bowdon, ND; six grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; one brother, Alfred Randall, Jamestown; one sister, Betty Wolf, Auburn, WA and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; one brother, Victor Randall; and three sisters, Thelma Randall and Isabelle Smith and Elizabeth Randall in infancy.

Funeral Service: 10:00 AM, Saturday, May 17, 2008 at the United Methodist Church, Robinson, ND.

Visitation: 1:00 to 8:00 PM, Friday, May 16, 2008 at the Eddy Funeral Home in Jamestown, ND.

Prayer Service: 2:00 PM, Friday, May 16, 2008 at the Eddy Funeral Chapel.

Burial: Fairview Cemetery, rural Robinson, North Dakota.
