John William Soulis

September 17, 1937 — June 21, 2004

John William ""Bill"" Soulis, 66, Jamestown, North Dakota died Monday, June 21, 2004 at MeritCare Hospital in Fargo, ND.

John William Soulis was born September 17, 1937 in Jamestown the son of John M., Jr. and Lorraine (Long) Soulis. He attended school and graduated from Jamestown High School . After graduation Bill went to work for Pacific Bell in California for a short time. He returned to Jamestown and married Margie Zimmerman on October 4, 1957 in Jamestown. He then went to work for Flannery Bakery, Jamestown. They moved to Montana and Bill worked for Peter Kewitt Construction. Upon their return to Jamestown he worked for Leo Clairmont Construction and worked on the Pipestem Dam. He later worked for his father, Jake, at the Tomahawk Bar & Lounge then in 1975 went to work for the BNSF as a brakeman and engineer. He retired from the railroad in 1994 and helped his son at Scoti's Muffler in Jamestown.

Bill loved to garden and he especially loved tulips. He also enjoyed hunting, was an avid antique collector, in particular trains, Dale Earnhardt memorabilia and motorcycles, and he loved his bulldog, Stanley.

Bill is survived by his wife, Margie; four children, Jody (Jon) McClean, Jamestown; Jackie (Rocky Lawson) Soulis, Sawyer, ND; Scot (Cindy) Soulis, Casselton, ND and Julie (Howie) Blinsky, Jamestown, six grandchildren, Joshua (Denise) McClean; Tasha Swanson; Jake McClean; Jesse Blinsky; Levi Wahl Soulis and Peyten Soulis and two great-grandchildren; Dilon and Sophie McClean.

He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Terry Dean Soulis.

Funeral Service: 10:00 AM, Friday, June 25, 2004 at St. Paul's United Methodist Church, Jamestown.

Prayer Service: 7:00 PM, Thursday, June 24, 2004 at the Eddy Funeral Chapel.

Visitation: 9:00 AM to 9:00 PM, Thursday, June 24, 2004 at the Eddy Funeral Home.
