John Wahl, 68, beloved son of Fred & Alma Wahl and stepmother, Ella Wahl, went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, December 8, 2005.
John was born in Wishek, North Dakota on March 19, 1937. He lived in Wishek with his grandparents until the age of 21. He also lived in Arthur, North Dakota for a short time. John attended one year of elementary school in Goodrich, North Dakota. In 1958 he moved to Grafton, North Dakota until the age of 49. In 1986, John moved in with his foster parents, Bob and Mae Williams, at Cleveland, North Dakota. He lived there until 1995, then moved to Jamestown.
John was employed at Alpha Opportunities, Inc. from 1986 until his retirement. John enjoyed writing letters, spending time with his many friends and his beloved cat, Blackie. He also enjoyed going to the movies and dining out in his favorite restaurants.
John was the sunshine of life to many people and will be surely missed. He gave the ultimate gift of sight by donating his blue eyes so that someone else could see the wonders of the world.
John is survived by his step-mother, Ella Wahl, of Jamestown; two aunts, Ida Roesler, Jamestown and DeLayne (Meirwyn) Krein, Goodrich, ND and five uncles, Edmund (Pearl) Wahl, Wilmer (Harriet) Wahl, both of Jamestown, Ervin (Pat) Wahl, Turtle Lake, ND, Donald (Leona) Wahl, Bismarck, ND and Reuben Dammel, Medina, ND.
His parents preceded him in death.
Funeral Service: 1:00 PM, Monday, December 12, 2005 at the Eddy Funeral Chapel, Jamestown with Rev. Doug Opp officiating.
Visitation: 1:00 to 5:00 PM, Sunday, December 11, 2005 at the Eddy Funeral Home, Jamestown.
Burial: Sunset Memorial Gardens, Jamestown, North Dakota
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the James River Humane Society, Jamestown.
