Joseph Dekaria

Joseph DeKaria, 94, of Jamestown, ND, passed away December 15, 2022 at Havenwood of Maple Grove, MN.

Joseph DeKaria was born May 24, 1928, in Jamestown, the son of Antonio and Martha (Boepple) DeKaria.  He attended school in Jamestown and attended trade school for a year for diesel correspondence (ICS.)  Joseph enlisted in the US Navy in 1946 and served until 1951.  He was united in marriage to Edna Mae Petersen and they made their home in Jamestown.  Joseph retired as a locomotive engineer, having also been a fireman.  He was a member of the Elks, American Legion, VFW, and Blind Association (ACB.)

Joseph is survived by his son, Joseph J. DeKaria and daughter, Tonah Lee White.

He was preceded in death by his parents and sisters, Barbara Pogue and Ophelia Parkinson.

Memorial Service – 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, June 14, 2023 at Eddy Funeral Home, Jamestown with Rev. Shawn Bowman officiating.

Burial – 2:00 p.m., Thursday, June 15, 2023 at North Dakota Veterans Cemetery, Mandan.
