Joyce Lausch, 76, Jamestown, North Dakota died Sunday, November 15, 2009 at Ave Maria Village in Jamestown.
Joyce Heiden was born July 7, 1933 in Tappen, North Dakota, the daughter of Edward and Edith (Ruetter) Heiden. She was raised and attended school in Heaton, ND, graduating from Heaton High School. Joyce taught at a country school in the Heaton area for one year. On October 12, 1951 she married Walter Lausch in Bowdon, ND. Joyce and Walter were married for 25 years. She lived in Carrington and Harvey, working various positions as a sales clerk and waitress. Joyce moved to Jamestown in 1978, where she worked at Wagon Masters Restaurant for 10 years before her health failed. She also sold Avon for many years getting to know people from around the area. Joyce had a passion for reading, doing genealogy, and loved spending time with her family.
Joyce is survived by one daughter, Chris (Peter) Roller, Jamestown; three sons, Jim (Paula) Lausch, Jamestown, Brendon Lausch, Warner Robins, Georgia, Dave Lausch, Jamestown; daughter-in-law, Tracy Lausch, Wilton, ND; 11 grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; one son, Mark; two brothers, Alvin and Orville; and one sister, Violet.
