Joyce M. Lusk

Joyce Lusk, 78, of Jamestown, ND died Friday, July 9, 2004 at Meritcare Medical Center, Fargo, ND.

Joyce McLeod was born September 23, 1925 in Milton, ND the daughter of John and Margaret (MacLeod) McLeod. She grew up in Milton and graduated from Milton High School. Joyce graduated from Jamestown College in 1947 with a Bachelor degree in Spanish and a minor in art. She married Jim Lusk on October 2, 1948 in Jamestown. They made their home in Jamestown where Joyce worked for Berg Photography Studio. She taught art history at Jamestown College, many art workshops throughout the state, and tailoring and pattern alteration. Jim died May 5, 1992.

Joyce was a charter member of the Jamestown Art Association, a former trustee of Jamestown College, North Dakota Humanities Council, North Dakota Art Council, North Dakota Pen Women, the Red Hatters, and the United Presbyterian Church, Jamestown where she was involved with Stephens Ministries.

Joyce is survived by her daughter, Jo Lusk of Oakland, CA.

She was preceded in death by her husband; parents; and one brother, Donald E. McLeod.

Memorial Service: 11:00AM, Tuesday, July 13, 2004 at the United Presbyterian Church, Jamestown with Pastor David Thompson officiating.
