Joyce Sheets

Joyce Sheets, 76, Jamestown, North Dakota died Sunday, April 20, 2003 at Hi-Acres Manor Nursing Home in Jamestown. Joyce was born August 30, 1926 to Clarence and Vesta (Bruce) Gray. She grew up and attended school in Buchanan. Joyce married Orville Clarence Sheets in September of 1944. They lived in Buchanan and Glover until finally moving to Goodrich in November of 1951. After the death of Orville in 1978, she moved to Jamestown. She worked for the North Dakota State Hospital dietary for nine years before retiring in 1987.

Joyce was a member of the Goodrich American Legion Auxiliary and the Jamestown VFW Auxiliary. She enjoyed reading, games and spending time with her family.

She is survived by her two sons and daughters-in-law, Dannie (JoAnn) of Valley City and Michael (Marilyn) of Jamestown, six grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, four sisters, Evelyn Craven, Snohomish, WA; Charolette Schultz, Jamestown; Donna Sadek, Jamestown and Wilma Ringer, Portland, OR and one brother, Garnet Gray, Casper, WY.

Joyce was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Orville, two sons, Orville, Jr. and Richard and one brother, Clarence, Jr.

Funeral Service: 1:00 PM, Friday, April 25, 2003, Eddy Funeral Chapel with Rev. Bryce Tahran officiating.

Visitation: 9:00 AM to 9:00 PM, Thursday, April 24, 2003, Eddy Funeral Home.

Prayer Service: 7:00 PM, Thursday, April 24, 2003, Eddy Funeral Chapel.

Burial: Buchanan Cemetery, Buchanan, North Dakota.
