Joyce Zaun, 73, Jamestown, North Dakota died Tuesday, August 25, 2009 at her home.
Joyce Hopkins was born December 26, 1935 in Kensal, North Dakota, the daughter of Ray and Agnes (Nogesek) Hopkins. She grew up and attended Kensal Public School. Joyce married Donald Zaun, January 30, 1953. They lived at Edmunds where Donald farmed with his dad and later they ran the filling station. They moved to Jamestown where she was a waitress and a custodian for the Jamestown Public Schools for several years. She retired several years ago. Joyce was a member of the VFW Ladies Auxiliary. She enjoyed dancing, playing bingo, puzzles and embroidery.
Joyce is survived by one son, Curtis (Kathy) Zaun, Edgeley, ND; three daughters, Dale (Joe) Roehrich, Gackle, ND, Darnel (Roy) Carlson, Wimbledon, ND, Denise (Chad) Presser, Jamestown, ND; eleven grandchildren, three great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; two sisters, Jennette (Clark) Fisher, Jamestown, ND, Jenevieve Schrade, Woodland, WA; and three brothers, Darrel (Tom) Hopkins, Westminster, MA, Dennis (Charlene) Hopkins, Valley, AL, Duane Hopkins, Brownsmills, NJ.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Donald; and two brothers, Wallace and Eugene.
Funeral Service: 10:30 AM, Monday, August 31, 2009 at First Baptist Church, Jamestown, ND with Pastor Wayne Bangs officiating.
Visitation: 2:00 to 8:00 PM, Sunday, August 30, 2009 at Eddy Funeral Home, Jamestown.
Burial: Highland Home Cemetery, Jamestown, ND
