Judith Mitchell, 75, Jamestown, ND, died Monday, December 26, 2011 at MedCenter One in Bismarck, ND.
Judith Moore was born January 14, 1936 at Forbes, ND, the daughter of V.C. and Ellen (Burke) Moore. She graduated from Courtenay High School in 1954 and from the University of North Dakota in 1959 as a medical technician. After college she worked at the clinic in Ellendale. On January 27, 1960, Judith married Abner Mitchell in Aberdeen, SD. They moved to Courtenay where they farmed, ranched and raised Suffolk sheep and Angus cattle until her passing.
Judith enjoyed gardening, knitting, crocheting, cooking and loved her pets. She was a member of Corrine Homemakers, the school board and was a 4-H leader for many years.
Judith is survived by one daughter, Andrea (Tim) Muggli, Carson, ND; three sons, Jeffrey (Tami) Mitchell, Courtenay, Stewart (Ann) Mitchell, Pettibone, ND and Keith (Tressi) Mitchell, Jamestown; nine grandchildren; two brothers-in-law, Douglas (Adeline) Mitchell, Jamestown and Bill Monson, Minnetonka, MN.
She was preceded in death by her husband; parents; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Bryan and Jessie Mitchell and one sister-in-law, Anita Monson.
She loved her livestock, especially sheep, horses, dogs and cats. She will be missed at the farm for her advice, ideas and motivation.
