Judith West

Judith West, 59, of Jamestown, ND, died Thursday, November 19, 2009 at her home.

Judith McCarthy was born March 25, 1950 in Jamestown, North Dakota to Leo Ralph and Opal (Pottratz) McCarthy. She grew up and was educated in Cleveland, North Dakota. Judy married Walter \""Skip\"" McCarthy in May, 1972. They lived in Grand Forks and Kansas City, Missouri, until his death in November, 1988. After Skips passing Judy moved to Newton, Kansas. She worked as an RN for the past twenty years with her last employment at Ave Maria Nursing Home, Jamestown. Judy retired in 2006 due to her health. She is survived by two daughters, Amanda Jane West, Fargo, ND and Robin Alicia West, fiancé, Richard Nelson, Jamestown, ND; one sister, Linda Michaelis, Paynesville, MN; one brother, Dennis \""Duke\"" McCarthy, Cleveland, ND; three step-sisters, Lolly (Bill) Klose, Spiritwood, ND, Cheryl (Chuck) Biel, Carrington, ND and Ann (Don) Yost, Lincoln City, NE; two step-brothers, Kelly (Dottie) Murchie, Jamestown, ND and Phil (Elaine) Murchie, Fargo, ND. She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, step-mother, Lucy McCarthy and step-brother, Casey.
