Julia Lambert

March 16, 1925 — January 26, 2010

Julia Lambert, 84, Bismarck,
formerly of Edgeley, passed away peacefully Tuesday, January 26, 2010 at St.
Vincent's Care Center,
Bismarck. A reception to celebrate Julia's life will be
held from 1:30 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. on Thursday, January 28, 2010 at St. Vincent's Care Center. Visitation will be held Saturday, January 30,
2010 from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at Transfiguration Catholic Church, Edgeley,
followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. Duaine Cote
officiating. Burial will be in Mount Calvary
Cemetery, Edgeley in the
spring.

Julia Ann Marquart was born March 16,
1925 at Strasburg, the daughter of Benedict and Katherine (Zacher) Marquart. She attended school in Strasburg until moving
to Zeeland.
She later moved to Edgeley and worked at the Red Owl Store. Julia married Merlin Lambert on September 24,
1946 in Edgeley. They moved to the family farm northeast of Edgeley where they
managed a small dairy herd in addition to crop farming. Julia worked at the Edgeley Coffee Shop, the
Frontier Restaurant, and the Edgeley Sales Barn. They retired to Mandan in 2001.

Julia was a member of the Transfiguration
Catholic Church and an honorary member of the Altar Society, a past member of
the American Legion Auxiliary and past president of the Edgeley Senior
Citizens. Julia loved cooking, baking,
and gardening, which were evident by the many great meals she prepared. She
enjoyed several crafts, but especially loved to crochet afghans for her
children and grandchildren.

Survivors include her husband of 63
years, Merlin; 5 children: Wayne, Montgomery, AL, Catherine (Richard) Okerlund,
Bismarck; Anita (Richard) McLain, Kiowa,
CO; Myron, Colorado Springs, CO; Steve (Joanne), Edgeley; 8 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents,
three brothers and 2 sisters.
