June Musland Kluever

June Musland Kluever, 86, LaMoure, ND, formerly Edgeley, ND died at St. Rose Care Center, LaMoure on Thursday, November 2, 2006.

June Valerie Tomlin was born January 31, 1920 on the Tomlin Farm, located in Golden Glen Township near Edgeley, ND the daughter of Gordon and May (Washburn) Tomlin. She was raised on the farm and attended all eight grades at rural Potts #2 schoolhouse near Edgeley. She worked at Hafey's Café, for her Aunt Sadie Ellingson and also worked at her Aunt Augusta Washburn's Maternity Home, all of Edgeley. June had a great love of horses which included herding sheep on white mules, riding a favorite pony named Junie and her participation in many horse shows throughout her life. She also loved her dogs and cats. Her Dad died in 1936, so June quit high school to help at home. She married Paul Musland on Easter Sunday, March 28, 1937 and was baptized sometime following her marriage. They had one daughter, Jannene Joy. Paul died May 2, 1970 while riding at a Jamestown Horse Show. Following his death, June worked as a receptionist for Dr. Brown of Edgeley for 7 years. She married Walt Kluever on October 6, 1973. They made Edgeley their home. Walt died January 6, 1996. She moved from Edgeley to Rosewood Court Assisted Living June 3, 2003. She then moved into St. Rose Care Center, LaMoure April 1, 2006.

June is survived by daughter Jannene (Don) Janssen, Fullerton; step-daughters Jan Kranda, Sabin, MN and Marilyn Fahlsing, Denver, CO; 3 grandchildren, Joy (Rob) Erstad, Embden, ND, Kent (friend Nancy) Janssen, Embden, ND and Larry (Angel) Janssen, Sidney, MT; great grandchildren Madison Joy, Shelby and Larree Janssen, Adrian Frisk, Savannah Christl, Cody, Abbi and Mikki Erstad; and 1great great granddaughter Mikanna Christl. Survivors also include her sisters, Faye Heim and Vera (Bill) Zottnick, both Edgeley, ND and 6 step grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, Gordon and May Tomlin; step father Giles Chambers; husbands Paul Musland and Walt Kluever; 5 sisters, Marjory (Lenz) Stehr, Opal Evele, Myra Greenwood, Ruth Greenwood, Phyllis (Huckeby) Sears and 2 brothers Charles and Gary.

June was a member of Wesley United Methodist Church, Edgeley, ND and was an honorary member of the James River Riders Horse Club of LaMoure.

Funeral Service: 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, November 8, 2006 at Wesley United Methodist Church, Edgeley, ND with Reverend Ken Ballard officiating.
Prayer Service: 7:30 Tuesday, November 7, 2006 at Lisko Funeral Chapel, Edgeley, ND.
Visitation: 11:00 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. Tuesday at Lisko Funeral Chapel, Edgeley and 1 hour prior to services at the church on Wednesday.
Interment: Mount Hope Cemetery, Edgeley, ND.
