Katherine "Katie" Feist

Katherine "Katie" Feist, 88, Edgeley ND, passed away peacefully on Sunday July 5th, 2009 at St. Rose Care Center, LaMoure, ND with her loving family by her side. Katherine was born May 9th 1921, in Ipswich SD, the daughter of Sylvester and Martha (Meier) Fischer.

Katie spent most of her youth in the Aberdeen SD area. She married Frank Feist in her hometown of Ipswich SD July 7th, 1943. Her early years were spent raising a family of eight children. Katie worked at various jobs until she found her calling at the Manor St. Joseph and for the next 36 years she provided service to the Edgeley area community by caring for the elderly. Katie loved gardening, crocheting, and spending time with her many grandchildren.

She is survived by her 8 children: Martha (Frank) Weigel, Edgeley, ND; Patty (Larry A.) Becker, Bismarck, ND; Jim (Jan) Feist, Bozeman, MT; Tom (Cheryl) Feist, Williston, ND; Rita (Dwight) Dirk, Bismarck, ND; Steve (Diane) Feist, Edgeley, ND; Bernie (Ron) Swanson, West Fargo ND; Gary Feist, Minneapolis, MN. The surviving extended family includes 24 grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren, brothers Mike and Albert Fischer, residing in Aberdeen and sister Adeline Bruckner also in Aberdeen. Katie is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

Proceeded in death by her husband, Frank; parents, Sylvester and Martha Fischer and sister, Caroline Baer.

Funeral - 2:00 p.m. Saturday, July 11, 2009 at Transfiguration Catholic Church, Edgeley, ND

Prayer Service - 7:00 p.m. Friday, July 10, 2009 at Transfiguration Catholic Church, Edgeley, ND.

Visitation - 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Friday, July 10, 2009 at Lisko Funeral Chapel, Edgeley, ND and 1 hour prior to services at the church on Saturday.

Interment - Mount Calvary Cemetery, Edgeley, ND
