Kathryn ""Katie"" Tahran, 100, Jamestown, North Dakota, died Tuesday, April 10, 2007 at Jamestown Hospital.
Kathryn Lang was born October 7, 1906 in Lehr, North Dakota, the daughter of Valentine and Karolina Lang. Katie married Gottlieb Tahran on November 12, 1933 in Lehr. They moved to a farm south of Eldridge, ND in 1933 and farmed for 2 years. They moved to Jamestown in 1936, where Gottlieb opened his own business. She was the secretary/bookkeeper for her husband's business.
She was a charter member of Temple Baptist Church in Jamestown and was active in women's ministries. She loved to share her cooking and baking with others.
Katie is survived by two sons, David Tahran and Paul Tahran, both of Jamestown; one daughter, Caroline Torres, Pensacola, FL; three grandsons, Trone Tahran of Virginia, Michael & Matthew Torres, Providence, RI; and one great-grandson, Julian Miller-Torres.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Gottlieb, her eldest son, Clayton Dean; her parents and thirteen brothers and sisters.
Funeral Service: 10:30 AM, Saturday, April 14, 2007 at Temple Baptist Church, Jamestown with Rev. Randy Jaspers & Rev. Bryce Tahran officiating.
Visitation: 1:00 to 7:00 PM, Friday, April 13, 2007 at the Eddy Funeral Home in Jamestown.
Prayer Service: 7:00 PM, Friday, April 13, 2007 at the Eddy Funeral Chapel
Burial: Highland Home Cemetery, Jamestown, North Dakota.
