Katherine ""Katie"" Krein, 93, Jamestown, North Dakota, died Sunday, July 2, 2006 at Hi-Acres Manor Nursing Home, Jamestown.
Katie Graf was born January 31, 1913 near Napoleon, North Dakota, the daughter of Jacob and Christina (Hoffer) Graf. She grew up and attended rural school in the area. She married Samuel Roesler in 1931. They lived on a farm near Napoleon until 1953 when Samuel passed away. She and the family then moved to Jamestown. She worked for a time at the North Dakota State Hospital and also at White Drug. She later married Gottleib Krein of Jamestown. He died in 1989. She continued living in Jamestown until 2004 when she entered Hi-Acres Manor where she resided until her death.
She was a lifetime member of the Seventh Day Adventist Church, which she attended faithfully.
Katie is survived by two daughters, Helen Hennings, Jamestown and Ruby (Arloe) Erickson, Grand Forks, ND; one son, Melvin (Janet) Roesler, International Falls, MN; one stepdaughter, Luanne Egan, Seattle, WA; one stepson, Marlow (Janice) Krein, Kirkland, WA, nine grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; one sister, Leah Flemmer, College Place, WA and one brother, Huldrich Graf, Minneapolis, MN.
She was preceded is death by her parents, her husbands, a son in infancy, one daughter, Lila Gunsch, a granddaughter, Mindie and twin brother, Corey Erickson, two sisters, Johanna and Bertha, four brothers, Otto, Ted, Art & Adolph and two sons-in-law, Keith Hennings and Bernard Gunsch.
Funeral Service: 11:00 AM, Thursday, July 6, 2006 at the Seventh Day Adventist Church, Jamestown with Pastor David Stuart officiating.
Visitation: 2:00 to 8:00 PM, Wednesday, July 5, 2006 at the Eddy Funeral Home in Jamestown, ND.
Prayer Service: 7:00 PM, Wednesday, July 5, 2006 at the Eddy Funeral Chapel
Burial: Napoleon Cemetery, Napoleon, North Dakota.
