Keith Schlager

Keith Schlager, 63, Jamestown, North Dakota died Friday, August 9, 2013 surrounded by the love of his family at his home on Hospice.

Keith was born in Jamestown October 19, 1949, the son of Edward and Evelyn (Madson) Schlager. He grew up and graduated from Jamestown High School in 1967. Keith was the captain on the wrestling team, and a great dancer at the teen canteen. In 1968 Keith joined the Army Artillery and proudly served his country in the Vietnam War. In 1970 he was honorably discharged. Keith attended NDSCS and graduated with a civil engineering degree in 1975.

Keith worked for Interstate Engineering for 32 years. He retired 5 years ago and has enjoyed his retirement life. Keith was an avid hunter and fisherman. His joy for passing time was woodworking, cooking and baking. Keith's favorite pastime was spending time with his family. He loved family barbecues and watching his grandchildren grow up. Keith leaves his best friend behind, Willis, his black lab.

Keith is survived by two sons, Travis (Susie) and Justin (Lyndsay Bennett), both of Jamestown; one daughter, Sierra Schlager (Chantal Guzman), New Jersey, four beautiful grandchildren, Ashley Schlager (Justin Andres) and Alec Schlager, both of Jamestown, Makenzie Schlager, Barnesville, MN and Victoria Guzman, New Jersey; three brothers, Marlin (Deaon), Jamestown, George (Carol), Arizona and Terry (Char), Jamestown; three sisters, Cindy (Doug) Wold, Roxanne Hurley and Tammie Oberlander (Brent Stein), all of Jamestown; many cousins, nieces, nephews and one aunt.

He was preceded in death by his parents; one brother, Robert (Bob); brother-in-law, Kim Hurley; two nephews; grandparents and many aunts and uncles.
