Kenneth T Jonietz

Kenneth T. Jonietz passed away in Jamestown, North Dakota on August 21, 2024 at the age of 95.  Ken was born on December 15, 1928 in Williston North Dakota to Sally and Thomas Jonietz, he joined 2 older sisters Kathryn and Lorraine.  Ken attended Sheyenne River Academy in Harvey North Dakota for High School. It was there he met the love of his life Lillian Haas.  Ken and Lillian were united in marriage on September 12, 1948 in Jamestown. They had been married 74 years at the time of Lillian’s passing in 2023.

To this union 3 children were born: Vickee (Randy) Anderson, David (Leslie Blair) Jonietz and Sally (Gerald) Nuhsbaumer.  Ken taught country school for several years then attended the North Dakota State School of Science and became an X-ray technician.  In 1957 he became the head of the X-ray department at the Immanuel St. Joseph’s Hospital in Mankato, Minnesota, and worked there until his retirement.  After retirement Ken and Lillian moved to Jamestown North Dakota.  Kenneth will be remembered for his musical ability, love of airplanes, golf and motorcycles.

Ken is survived by his 3 children, grandchildren and great grandchildren, sister in law Evelyn Rosin, nieces and nephews.

Kenneth was preceded in death by his parents, wife Lillian, his sisters, several brother in laws and sister in laws.  There will be a burial at a later date in the Medina Country Cemetery.
