Kenneth Loveland, 62, Jamestown, North Dakota died Tuesday, October 19, 2004 at his home in Jamestown.

Ken was born May 7, 1942 in Langdon, North Dakota, the son of Harold and Ruth (Swenson) Loveland. He grew up and graduated from high school in Wilton, ND. In 1965 Ken graduated from NDSU and began work with John Deere in Moline, Illinois. He married Judy Decker on June 26, 1965 in Belfield, ND. After serving in the Marine Corp, Ken joined North Central Consultants. In 1976 with four partners, he started Interstate Engineering.

Ken was active in the Eagles Drum & Bugle Corps, Jamestown Jaycees, Chamber of Commerce, Jamestown Elks Club, Greater North Dakota Association, Business Challenge, Jamestown Figure Skating Club, USS Swim Team, Jamestown Industrial Development Corporation, Jamestown/Stutsman County Jobs Development Corporation, Basilica of St. James Choir, St. John's Academy School Board, Foundation for Advancement of Christian Education, Fargo Diocesan Board of Education, National Society of Professional Engineers, ND Society of Professional Engineers, American Council of Engineering Companies, ND Consulting Engineers and was Jamestown's 1998 Outstanding Citizen.

Ken enjoyed hunting, fishing, golfing, spending time with his family and especially his grandchildren, and his greatest passion was his work.

Ken is survived by his wife, Judy, Jamestown, two daughters, Robyn (Paul Mihulka) Loveland, Omaha, NE and Kimberly (Christopher) Peterson, Denver, CO, three grandchildren, Zachary Beck, Zoey Mihulka and Hayley Peterson and one sister, Kathy (Swain) Benson, Bottineau, ND.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Funeral Liturgy: 11:00 AM, Saturday, October 23, 2004 at the Basilica of St. James, Jamestown.

Vigil: 7:00 PM, Friday, October 22, 2004 at the Basilica of St. James.

No visitation is scheduled.

Burial: 12:00 PM, Monday, October 25, 2004 at the ND Veterans Cemetery, Mandan, North Dakota.

In lieu of flowers, memorials in Ken's name may be made to the Ken Loveland Scholarship Fund at the St. John's Academy.
