Kenny DeCoteau, 59, passed away at his home in Fargo, ND on Monday, May 16, 2016. Kenny was born on June 11, 1956 in Belcourt, ND, the son of Oliver DeCoteau and Mabel Roussin (Belgarde). Kenny was raised in the Belcourt and Dunseith area until he went to school in Wahpeton. Kenny attended college in Belcourt and Devils Lake, ND. Kenny worked in various assisted living facilities and with teens in the shelter. Kenny had the biggest heart. Kenny always made you feel like you were someone. Anytime you needed him he was there for you. Even if it was just to talk. Kenny enjoyed family get-togethers and the holidays. Kenny's grandchildren were his pride and joy. When Kenny was with his grandchildren, you would always hear laughter, singing, the guitar playing and jokes.
Kenny enjoyed listening to country music and playing the guitar with his brothers, son in-law and grandchildren. Kenny will be missed by so many. Kenny has touched more lives than he ever knew.
Kenneth is survived by two daughters, Jennifer (Darrell) Dauphinais, Jamestown, ND and Leah DeCoteau, Belcourt, ND; two sons, Kenneth DeCoteau, Jr., Belcourt, ND and Leo (Angel) DeCoteau, Belcourt, ND; eleven grandchildren; two brothers and two sisters, James (Linda) DeCoteau, Belcourt, Marlin (Peggy) DeCoteau, Jamestown,ND, Donna (Raymond) Houle, Dunseith, ND and Gale DeCoteau, Dunseith, ND; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his father, Oliver DeCoteau; mother, Mabel Roussin; granddaughter, Emma Mae Dauphinais; three brothers, Mark, Vernon, and Ronnie; sister, Debbie; two nephews, Coltt and Chance DeCoteau one brother in-law David Amyotte.
Visitation: 1:00 p.m.-7:00 p.m., Monday, May 23, 2016 at Williams-Lisko Funeral Chapel, Jamestown.
Wake Service : 7:00 p.m., Monday, May 23, 2016 at Williams-Lisko Funeral Chapel, Jamestown.
Mass of Christian Burial: 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, May 24, 2016 at St. James Basilica, Jamestown.
Interment: Highland Home Cemetery, Jamestown.
