Larae Hillius

LaRae Hillius, 49, Medina, North Dakota died Saturday, May 29, 2004 at Central Dakota Village, Jamestown, ND surrounded by her family.

LaRae Gilmore was born December 2, 1954 in Jamestown the daughter of Ivan and Irene (Bossart) Gilmore. She grew up in the Jud, ND area and graduated from Jud High School in 1973. She married Gene Maessner in June 1973 in Jud. They resided on a farm northwest of Gackle, ND. A daughter, Heather (Maessner) Tufty was born to LaRae and Gene on December 4, 1978. LaRae worked at the North Dakota State Hospital from 1981 to 1983. On December 10, 1982 she married Darrell Hillius and they resided south of Medina, ND. Darrell died July 11, 1999.

LaRae enjoyed ceramics, sewing, her many dogs, farm life and working with cattle.

She was a member of the United Methodist Church in Medina, ND.

LaRae is survived by her daughter, Heather of Fargo, ND; two brothers, Rod (Vicki) Gilmore, Mandan, ND and Ron (Candy) Gilmore, Fargo: four step-children, Renee (Tim ) Olson, Medina, ND, Wanda (Warren) Hehr, Fredonia, ND, Ray (Jeannie) Hillius, Jamestown and Eric Hillius, Medina and eight step-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by husband, Darrell and a step-grandson, Jeremy Baker.

Memorial Service: 10:00 AM, Wednesday, June 2, 2004 at the United Methodist Church, Medina, North Dakota.

No Visitation is scheduled.

Burial: Medina Cemetery, Medina, North Dakota.
