Larry F. Wong, 96, Jamestown, North Dakota died peacefully on Friday, March 16, 2007 at Innovis Health Center in Fargo, ND.
Larry Wong was born June 14, 1910 in Canton, China. He moved to the United States when he was 18 years old. Larry married Elvina Guthmiller of Pettibone, ND on January 15, 1947. Larry fought in WWII for the US Army and received the Purple Heart on August 8, 1944. He returned to Jamestown where he owned and operated the Jamestown Café with his brother until retirement. Elvina died on May 22, 2000. He resided at Villa Maria Nursing Home, Fargo for the past two years.
Larry is survived by one daughter, Debra (Mark) Heldt, Philadelphia, PA; one son, Steven (Kristi) Wong, Moorhead, MN; 6 grandchildren; and 3 nieces.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Elvina; brother, Harry; and son, Tommy.
Funeral Service: 11:00AM, Tuesday, March 20, 2007 at Eddy Funeral Chapel, Jamestown, ND.
Visitation: 1:00PM - 8:00PM, Monday, March 19, 2007 at the Eddy Funeral Home, Jamestown.
Burial: 3:00PM, Tuesday, March 20, 2007 at the North Dakota Veterans Cemetery, Mandan, ND.
