Lavern E. Horsted

Lavern E. Horsted, 80, of Jamestown, ND died Saturday, April 2, 2005 at SCCI in Fargo, ND.

Lavern McKeen was born on January 10, 1925 in Cleveland, Ohio, the daughter of Robert & Adele (Sorenson) McKeen. When she was young, the family moved to Buchanan, ND where she graduated from high school. Lavern attended business school and worked at the National Bank in Jamestown, Buchanan Post office, and Buchanan Elevator. She married Rodney Horsted in 1946 and they made their home in Jamestown. They moved to Buchanan in 1950 and lived there until his death in 1987. Lavern moved to Jamestown where her home has been since.

A special thanks to all who have visited and sent words of encouragement to the hospital during the last several months.

She is survived by one daughter, Rhonda (Richard) Withers of Champlin, MN; two grandchildren, Jennifer Withers Hall and Christopher Withers; and two sisters, Muriel Sinclair of Bend, OR and Joann Beaque of Blaine, MN.

She was preceded in death by her husband; parents; one brother, Gerald.

Memorial Service: 2:00PM, Tuesday, April 5, 2005 at the First Congregational United Church of Christ, Jamestown.

Burial: 1:00PM, Tuesday, April 5, 2005 at Buchanan Cemetery, Buchanan, ND.
